We've all experienced the problem - not enough electrical outlets in a room causing you to run yards of extension cords. It happens a lot with older homes and it leaves you with loose cords that young ones can easily trip over.
The best looking solution we've seen is this mini picket fence installed around the baseboard of a room. The gap between the baseboard and the wall often is just enough to hide electrical cords. Karl Zahn came up with this great idea for the 2006 Muji International Design Competition and designed this prototype. It hasn't gone into production, but we think this idea is ripe for diy'ing (and let us know if you do!). For more details, check out Oboiler.com or see Unplggd's post about Oboiler.

White Enamel Flatwa...
thats ugly...
Seems even more dangerous! Take away the cords and replace them with 100 pointed pieces of wood.
The space behind those pieces and the wall would be hard to clean. Ick.
While I think it looks pretty, I would not want that in my child's room.
