CasaSugar has a really nice post up -- a home tour of a green casa in Joshua Tree.
Alma and Nancy's place has all sorts of green goodies -- a greywater system, windows that prevent heat loss, salvaged furniture, thermal mass concrete walls, tons of insulation, radiant in-floor heating (run with solar-heated water), and really amazing light.
Makes us want to hop in a pickup and head to the desert. The beautiful simplicity of the home blends pretty seamlessly with the stark minimalism that is Joshua Tree.
It's quite impressive.
