Name: Davis (18 months)
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
When decorating our son's room we knew we didn't want anything too babyish or over the top. The biggest challenge we had while decorating was we had no idea what the crib was going to look like. My dad hand made Davis's crib and the style/design was a total suprise.
The dresser is a Craigslist find, the changing table was found at a consignment sale, and the chandelier was found at the Habitat ReStore. All were given some splashy green paint for some fun pops of color. I made the crib skirt, bumper, and curtains for the room.
We added several personal touches to the room. Some of them include a photo taken by my husband specifically for our son, a Bible verse we chose for our son, the window frame collage board above the changing table that features memorbelia from the two of us (we have added to it since Davis was born with photos of him).

Great furniture finds... I LOVE the handmade crib! What a talented dad! That said, I'm not loving the mint + kelly green color combo... They just don't seem to work well together. But, at 18 months, you're soon going to be thinking toddler bed and "big boy room"... I'd take out the baby green and stick with the bold green into toddlerhood. Gray, kelly, and *navy blue* would look fantastic in lieu of the baby-ish mint :)
In real life this room isn't a minty green, it's aqua, and they work very well together. Thanks for your feedback!
I adore the green and gray combo and I'm glad to see someone from the midwest with a cool room! Great furniture too.
There are no words to describe how wonderful the crib is. WOW. The whole room is beautiful!
Love this!! These are actually my photography business' colors and I'm about to build a home office and will be using this room as inspiration, strangely enough ;) I love what you did with the walls!
I'm loving this color combo! I also really love those baskets - where are they from?
They are a very random Babies R Us find from a couple of years ago. They were on close out when I found them (and snapped them all up!) but that was in 2011 so I don't think they have them anymore. Sorry!
