Matching games are a great activity for babies and toddlers. Besides learning colors, there are all types of hand-eye and fine motor skill benefits involved, not to mention a big joy factor as growing minds learn to master a new skill. With perks like these, what more could you ask for? Cupcakes, you say? You got it.
We are not sure how this Cupcake Matching Game from Amy at Nap Time Crafters escaped our radar when it was first posted awhile back, but we are glad we caught up with it at last. Using a dollar-store muffin tin, some scraps of fabric and a little bit of paint, Amy has created a delicious matching game that is as sweet as they come. The cupcakes look great, the tin is bright and colorful, and the whole project costs just a few dollars (assuming you have some fabric scraps on hand).
The sewing component looks fairly straightforward, with a slightly tricky bit that is nicely explained in the tutorial. And Amy gets bonus points for creating a game that does double duty in the play kitchen.
