A restaurant in our neighborhood has a kid-sized door much to the delight of both diners and passersby, but we imagine having one inside your home would be a loads of fun for kids.
We wish we could tell you more about this particular door setup, but it's on a foreign website (Turkish?) that we haven't been able to translate. As parents, often we want to keep young kids contained with a door and having a door knob out of reach works in our favor, but imagine this diminutive door between siblings' rooms and all the games and fun that could entail. Check it out at Tasarim.

This is a cute idea. I've been thinking of putting in a Dutch door on my daughter's playroom. Not to keep her in, but to keep the dogs out. The playroom is really small and the dogs like to go in there and lounge and take up space which aggravates my daughter. I thought a Dutch door would be good because she can open it herself, as opposed to a safety gate, and I can see her in there. She will feel like she is in a playhouse. If anyone has other suggestions, I'm interested.
kids grow up. quickly. those doors will be a small pain in the hiney in no time. restaurants? sure. ikea? sure. my house? no thanks.
