Usually when we see a concept for a green table that involves living plants, there are a lot of questions to be had. Will things have enough dirt? How will you water it? Does it have drainage? Who would want a grassy knoll in the middle of their dining room table anyway? Well, with this creation the answers are a little more obvious, which makes us a little more in love.

This table was designed by Emily Wettstein and makes more sense than some of the ones we've seen in the past. Although it wouldn't hurt to have a grow light over your table that was turned on at night, this table at least has some visible guts we can believe in.

Most living tables think that grass should survive in half an inch of soil, but this one has enough root space you could potentially grow your own centerpiece instead of cutting it from outside. You can check out more on the piece over at Yanko Design.

Does the idea of a table your cat can graze on freak you out a little? Or does it get you all giddy to have your own little patch of grass? Share your thoughts on the practicalities of owning a living table in the comments below!
