Yesterday, Maxwell stopped in at the press preview of the very exciting, brand new venture from Christiane Lemieux and Co. - the first ever, flagship DwellStudio brick and mortar shop. Take a peek and NYers, be warned, you'll want to hop in the nearest taxi...

Today, the doors officially opened to the public at 11am and according to a friend who stopped by on their lunch hour, "I am mightily impressed. It's beautiful and fun, and not like another retail furniture store I've been to. I dig it."

The 3000 square foot shop is curated by Christiane and features their signature line of furniture, bedding, rugs, artwork and tabletop, along with the kids collections. The DwellStudio branded items will be supplemented with vintage finds.

Design shoppers' interest in customization and personalization just keeps on heating up and the shop plans to meet that demand with a custom furniture design station and consultations with experts.
Ready to drop by? The new shop is located at 77 Wooster Street in NYC. Open Monday through Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 12-6.

I love Dwell Studio. Their stuff is suck great quality and I love their modern yet classic aesthetic.
Forget the art on the walls...I want that velvet (mohair?) sofa beneath it!
love the post. love the pics. I am, however, going to be that grammar freak. I figure if you're a writer, and that's your job, you should be doing it right. "...according to a friend who stopped by on their lunch hour..." should be HIS or HER lunch hour depending on the gender of the friend.
@candacetherenter: Thanks to the ever-evolving English language "their" has been in common use as a gender-neutral pronoun for quite a few years now. Originally spearheaded by trans-rights groups, it's grown much more mainstream as a progressive way to refer to others without imposing the writer's assumption of gender upon them.
On another note, I've admired Dwellstudio's stuff for a long time, but couldn't commit to those prices without being able to sit on the furniture- looks like it's time for a trip to Soho!
Great job @Talby!!! Way to school us. Here is another of my favorite "No, umm, you're actually wrong." moments...

Such beautiful brass handles! Then they were ruined by ugly modern hex screws, come on guys!! Take those bloody things out and put in some proper flathead brass screws. The devil is in the details. I know trademen love their power tools, but certainly hand screwing 8 screws couldn't be too hard could it?
