Project by: Chelsea
Location: Columbus, Ohio
6 months ago we gave birth to our first son Evan. Our first floor master paired with Evan's upstairs nursery proved to be quite a challenge during those long nights in the first few months. So after some time we moved the master bedroom upstairs and turned the large first floor master into a family friendly living space.
This space does double duty with a fold out sofa for overnight guests. A dresser serves as a TV stand for extra storage for guest items. A large wardrobe in the corner holds extra blankets and pillows.
A few new furniture pieces, budget friendly art, a simple rug, and a basket for toy storage pull together this colorful and eclectic living space.
We created a little seating area in the corner where I can hang out and watch Evan while he plays on the rug. The chair was a splurge item as we had trouble finding something cozy and but with a midcentury feel. I imagine it will be used down the line as the "time out" chair when Evan starts getting himself into trouble.
