You must check out the latest issue of Lonny - as expected, it's full of great new marketplace finds and luscious house tour spreads. It's also no surprise that one of our favorite featured properties is done in a glamorous mid-century style, re-renovated back into its original state of grandeur.

Christian Leone decorated his space with as many authentic vintage pieces as possible. For example, the vibrant blue sofa originally belonged to his grandparents, and he loved its form so much that he had it reupholstered. He wanted the apartment to be relaxing for guests, so he added lots of additional seating and many burled surfaces on which guests can place their drinks. You can even find ashtrays scattered about. Says Leone, "It's like going back in time, with all the modern conveniences."

From the photos shown here (I couldn't get the Lonny site to work without crashing the Win-doze computer) there isn't anything MCM about this place...
...its much more Hollywood Regency.
Re: burled furniture, is the implication here that burled furniture is just that awesome (aesthetically or whatever), or does it have some practical properties I am supposed to know about? (No need for coasters, maybe?)
That's not MCM at all. Where's the teak, where are the Juhl, Jacabson, Vodder furniture. Who's fooling who? Georgia B
Ditto comments above. Total Hollywood Regency IMO.
found the mcm: the painting & pictures, in their frames. if the rest is mcm, we are reminded that bad design exists in every era; excepting the pics, this channels a cheesy motel outside mid-c las vegas.
