Riverside Retreat: A Minihouse in France

Marie Claire Mason

It used to be a boathouse. Then Jacques and Agnès Choï found this building and cleverly converted it into an elegant, back-to-basics cabin.

The cabin, located in Seine-et-Marne, France, looks timeless. Its beige and black color scheme, striped linen curtains, and green accents are perfectly understated. What it doesn't have? Running water or electricity. Camping lanterns hang from the ceiling and water is brought in and stored in large jugs. It's the perfect mix of rustic living and chic getaway — a lovely weekend glamping spot in the French countryside.
