Frequent entertainers, the homeowners built a subterranean wine cellar that’s lit from within and adds ambient light to living space above.
Yes, the house was dark. And yes, the only toilet was three feet from the dining table. But this renovation is a story of patience. Patiently getting to know one's house and patiently waiting for just the right team to make it happen. Brammy and Kyprianou did both of these things. The result? A light-filled home that retains all of the charm of the original, but none of the aggrevation. One that truly reflects its owners - their needs and their lifestyle. And ultimately, isn't that what we all want from our space?

White Enamel Four-P...
Fabulous! Makes me pine for Australia even more...
Insanely beautiful and well-designed, and it seems to be really functional and practical, too. I have serious house envy on this one, and I love that crazy egg toilet.
I do wonder what future generations will think of such renos.
Crazy gorgeous. Serious envy going on over here.
How fun! I love how the wine cellar is a nod to the victorian original style.
I love it: inside and out.
The inclusion of a floor plan would have been nice.
beautiful renovation.
however, for me personally, these kinds of add-ons is like sticky-taping 2 different architectural eras together and it just looks odd.
This is my home town - I'd not realised there were such innovative architects here! Beautiful! I'm guessing that the council would not have permitted changes to the front of the house (some councils care, others don't). I too would have liked to see a floor plan included (always!), before and after pictures, and an idea of the cost of the renovations (just to help me to keep daydreaming!).
WOW
It's like the 21st century exploded inside of the 19th and blew it out into the future.
It's interesting that the guest bathroom (in the link's slideshow) appears to be only around three feet deep, and yet is beautiful, luxurious and feels spacious. THAT'S good design.
I love the old and new mix. The set up in the back yard is fabulous!
I live in Adelaide! It's so nice to see an awesome place so close to home. There is some really great renovations of the older homes all over Adelaide. Definitely a dream of mine to have one for myself one day.
