We've been fantasizing about escaping lately, maybe to our very own modern lake house on the Michigan Riviera. In the fantasy, our summer getaway looks a lot like this airy, all-white home by Murdock Young Architects...

Located in Montauk, the home uses white painted wood floors, walls, and ceilings to reflect light and accentuate the open spaces. We love the wood dining table with simple benches for seating.

Another favorite detail: the white enamel pendant lamps hanging over the kitchen counter. We can just imagine cooking for a big group, then laying out the dining room table for a casual, family-style dinner.

I just bought a piggy bank to save up enough money to have these architects design a home for me. Dream on...
may be that will be next thursday's giveaway...right?
Nice House...
...but "Michigan Riviera"?
When I lived there, it was just called lakefront property.
Simply... amazing...
Simply stunning. I LOVE the vanity in the bathroom- I think it is a great way to get the "dual vanities" in a compact space.
I tried finding something like that here but was only able to find something in the UK. I wonder where they found theirs?
seriously, what do you mean by the Michigan Riviera?
Enjoyed seeing this and all the other houses; thanks for unearthing the site!
The Michigan Riviera? Glad to hear I'm not the only one lost.
Love the house! I also love the state of Michigan, especially the great lakes (my personal favorite is Lake Superior). I wouldn't call anything the Michigan Riviera . . . but the shores of Superior are magnificent. Ditto for the Lake Michigan sand dunes and the ruggedness of Lake Huron's shore.
Beautiful, I feel like I had a mini vacation just looking at the photographs
i would love to know the paint color -there re millions of whites...
