I stumbled across this photograph in a 1960s interior design book belonging to my grandmother. I love the cabin's rugged-yet-refined, East-meets-West vibe. Like many mid-century spaces, it feels almost totally contemporary. I rounded up some furniture and accessories inspired by the room, in case I can ever afford my own cozy winter ski cabin.
TOP ROW:
1. An image from Interior Decoration A to Z by Betty Pepis, published in 1965
2. A collage of furniture and accessories inspired by the space
3. Risom Arm Lounge Chair from DWR
4. George Nakishima-style coffee table on 1stdibs (keep an eye on craigslist for similar style tables at a much smaller price tag)
5. VÄTE floor lamp from IKEA, or there's always the pricier Isamu Noguchi original
BOTTOM ROW:
6. IKEA PS TOTT linen fabric
7. Japanese Grass Broom from Analogue Life
8. Agra Pillow by Suki Cheema
9. Nambu Tekki Kettle from Analogue Life
10. George Kovacs Accent Lamp from YLighting

I like the coffee table... not really my style overall. Well maybe if I had a cabin or earthy house :-P I think the coffee table could serve as cool model for a desk as well!
Nice inspiration for our cabin. I put my piet hein table and very old eames chairs in, added a nelson pendent but the rest is rustic, that table would be perfect will look out for something similar. Love the picture thanks for this inspiration its right on the lines of what we are trying to achieve.
It's George Nakishima's house :) so it should feel rustic and east meets west

Thanks for identifying the space! The book, unfortunately, is thin on information.

that chair is great! anyone knows where is it from?
All that furniture is from Nakishima and is still available from his studio.
