I'm the first to admit that while I love being in nature, I am not one to rough it. This stunning weekend retreat located two and a half hours northwest of Tokyo is "finely balanced between rustic camping and feeling like the Farnsworth House." It's a modern take on back-to-the-land: a shelter constructed from locally harvested larch wood and removable fiberplastic walls holds two yellow dome tents, which are the bedrooms.
And yes, there's also electricity, hot water, a kitchen, a clawfoot tub, and the Internet (essential for someone in my line of work). Totally idyllic.
