We wanted a cozy and comfortable space for our baby girl that was also neutral - we aren't huge fans of pinks or pastels. Of course, we are happy to let her stretch her own design wings when she is old enough!
We love modern furniture and lines and wanted to keep everything clean and simple, but also make it fun and lively. We had a minor bird/owl obsession while decorating. (The phrase, "Stick a bird on it!" from Portlandia was used as a light design inspiration/theme.) We also loved the wall decals as a way to add some fun and whimsy to the room.
The large "Land of Make Believe" print was in David's room as a child, as was the original Glady's Goose lamp. David also found the fashion prints on eBay, and we liked those as a more "girly" element to the room. Gia's favorite section is the Eames-inspired rocker and the changing table area.

What a wonderful room! I too believe that you really don't have to use pink just because you have a baby girl.

Where'd you get that owl pillow from?
Hi folks!! Alex, the room is sort of a weird shape, it's probably 8 feet wide by about 12 feet long so we had to draw out the locations of stuff a NUMBER of times to get it right. And krgr1428 we actually got that pillow at, of all places, HomeGoods.

Great room! I actually have this pillow as well (target)! Love it in the babies room! I guess I'm just a big kid after all. It was too cute to pass up! I rather enjoy the inspiration from the "put a bird on it" episode!!!! Haha

Owl pillow is from Target - it was just too perfect! :) We would totally have it in any room of the house.
The curtains are from IKEA. They are pretty sheer, but the room doesn't get a ton of light, and we got them more for privacy when we still wanted to let some light in. We also have wood blinds on the windows, so those block out most of the light.
I can look up the exact paint colors if you want them....but the room was already painted a light, sage green, which we loved. We painted one wall a butter yellow color just to brighten things up a bit.
