Danielle posted about a plant chandelier almost a year ago, and Sköna Hem recently featured a lovely home that uses this very same idea in the dining room. However, instead of just one plant, this chandelier uses multiple ivy plants in a variety of sizes, all in white pots...
We love how natural and beautiful this looks, especially in such a sunny dining room. We could also see how easily it would be to integrate lights with this option.
What do you think? Would you try this in your home?

White Enamel Flatwa...
Not crazy about this. It looks like a slightly more sophisticated take on the fake ivy on top of kitchen cabinets.
How do you light the table for evening dinners? Candles on the table?
I like it, but I think it would only work in a room with great natural light, and several secondary light sources.
I like the way it looks, but I wouldn't hang it over the table. It's not just that you do need light over the table, but also I'm envisioning water the plants and getting water all over the table....
Danielle,
I just love it !!!
WHERE did you - or - HOW did you get it ?
I would have a perfect place for it in our bedroom - in the middle of the ceiling - where is a (hidden) hook of a CEILING FAN !
Will be very happy for any input, thanks.
Alexandra
I love it. I want it. Source?
With the right mix of mature plants this could look amazing! But I think I would prefer this hanging in front of a window or in a corner.
pretty but not practical. i agree it would be difficult to light the dinner table appropriately for most occasions. but it could work in other places in the home and it could work with many types of plants...
I agree with Spanky. It seems cheesy somehow.
I would like it over the window or tucked in a corner, like Scarletdog suggests.
this is beautiful..where can i find this?
It's lovely but I'd prefer to see it elsewhere... perhaps in the garden, suspended from an arbor?
Pretty, but not over an indoor dining table. It would get messy not only from occasional water overflow, but unless you're very good about pruning off dead leaves, you'll get stuff all over the table.
I think this would be awesome for an outdoor/patio dining area. It would be great with little flowering plants too.
I'm sure this is very nice in Sweden during the summers when they get 20 hours of daylight...
...but it's not working in the winter when they're getting 20 hours of darkness - or even here in North American winters when we only get to see our homes at night 5-6 days of the week.
I think this is very unique and pretty in a bright room. Seems like a pain to water though.
this would totally work in this room as it's bright & has good lighting with the 2 side lamps & it may even have recessed ceiling lighting. not all spaces are so lucky. we opted not to have a dining room chandelier over our table as it's a combined space & the adjoining living room has a chandelier. so instead we have a calder-style metal mobile above the table. we also have a skinny 9 ft. tall papiro lamp that shines on the dining room table & we have more than enough light with the living room, other floor & ambient lighting. in fact, if we didn't have our lights on dimmers, we'd have too much lighting!
the chandelier is not to my taste but the table and chairs are beautiful!
I would love to have this in my breakfast room, reach up, snip some fresh herbs to add to breakfast or lunch.
Oh wait, I don't have a breakfast room...
oh wow, i love your idea, Rucy! yes, a breakfast room would be nice...for now i guess we've got to be like them plainfolk who eat all their meals in the same room!
i do love this, but as a lot of others have said, it'd make a mess over the table. maybe in another area...which'd make it just another kind of hanging plant, though.
