Good design sometimes means making room for the things you love. Inside Jordan’s home one thing is clear — his dedication and absolute love for all things music. He owns five electric guitars, a baritone, a bass and three amplifiers. Along with enough books to open a used bookstore, he has a music collection to rival Amoeba Records.
Making room for everything in your home may only mean simplifying what you want to display, and deciding how important a role these items have in your life. Owning a lot doesn't always mean clutter will overcome your house — you just need to display it in a savvy way.
Jordan integrated his love of music into his home in a simple, yet great looking way — by turning his amplifiers into a night stand for his bedroom, a side coffee table and a display next to his bookshelf.

he had me at the jimi hendrix poster on the wall! :)
The Marshall amp as a nightstand is a nice tough. I'm a fan of function over form, so I'd be curious to see what his stereo set up looks like for listening to that record collection.
fredbiscotti, look again, the 'stereo set up' is that mock gramophone thing ontop of the orange amp. I recognise it because my mother has one... it also plays CDs.... so, who is Jordan?
I'm just waiting for everyone to freak out about the vertical blinds!
Yeah, vertical blinds... every apartment dwellers immortal foe but it's forgiven by the NICE amps and my wish to know what year SG that is. My concern with the amp side tables would be people spilling drinks on them. I know that serious guitarists will intentionally modify their amps to get a more unique sound (Hendrix for example) but some accidents aren't happy, and those aren't cheap amps. To me, they would look nice serving just about any purpose - they're so clean it's hard to believe they get taken on gigs! I wish my gear looked that nice :) This guy's even got his fedoras in a row. I wish this showed how he stores his guitars, cases, etc... that's an issue I really struggle with.
Why mention the music collection if you don't show it?
My husband and I are huge audiophiles and I love to see how others solve the issue of where they store their physical copies.
This is how we do it:

Does the stuff on the amps affect the sound or are those big ones only for shows and there's smaller ones for home play?
In the background of the main picture there are shelves filled with CDs, on top of which are three guitar cases...... dear God! Am I the only one actually LOOKING at these pictures or has your vision been temporarily impaired by the horror of spotting the vertical blinds???
What's the problem with vertical blinds, again?
Acrossthepond- I was expecting more than two bookcases of CDs as they were described as rivaling Amoeba.
This looks exactly like my boyfriends house... record player, tons of records, tons of books, tons of guitars/cases, lots of amps, and a bunch of hats. Even the carpet and bookshelf resemble his. It all looks great but my only question is What do you do with all that stuff when you have to take your amp out to play a show?
Perhaps Amoeba have downsized their collection and we simply didn't know about it! ;)
I might email this to my fiance who is currently working on his man cave.
He stores his remaining guitars and cases in the corner around and behind the Orange amp, and has records on the cube shelf in that same picture.
And who knows what he might keep under his bed! :>
