I get so excited when a new shop opens in my neighborhood! It's not just a new business, it's also new ideas & inspiration, new gifts for friends (and possibly for myself), new shopkeepers to chat with, a new place to go when the tiny apartment gets a bit too tiny.... Press: Works On Paper is having their grand opening party on May 13th, and I can't wait. Scissors! Typewriters! Vintage fashion books! And, oh my gosh, the breathtaking works of paper artist Tahiti Pehrson. Plus it's at 22nd and Dolores, near so many other good home-goods shops: Gravel & Gold, Room 4, Viracocha, Gypsy Honeymoon. That's the thing about living in San Francisco: we might all pay way too much to live in apartments that are way too small, but there are so many fascinating places to go, and so many beautiful things to bring back to your home. It works out.
