If you are anything like me, the desire to have a look inside a clearly wonderful-from-the-outside city home is strong. Luckily, I can offer up the opportunity to do an Apartment Therapy house tour shoot as a way to gain entrance and satisfy (all of our) curiosity, but for NYers, there is an even easier way to see a whole bunch of amazing homes, no promise of photo shoots necessary.
In early October, New York Magazine and Dwell are teaming up to produce "City Modern" - a week-long program celebrating New York design.
They have all sorts of wonderful events on tap, including two weekend days of Home Tours - in Manahattan on Saturday, October 6 and in Brooklyn on Sunday, October 7.
The amazing house shown in our sneak is a Boerum Hill rowhouse, the home of architect Jordan Parnass. Parnass did a full renovation of the brownstone, which originally dates from the turn of the century, bringing it back to life after years of disrepair.
Joining the tours can be done on a per day basis or a full weekend pass is available. Ticket sales proceeds will benefit the non-profit Architecture for Humanity.
