The terrace is lovely -
- but the apartment and it's furnishings are ghastly.
I looked at an apt there when house hunting in DC with an ex -- mostly out of curiosity -- the interior halls were ghastly with pseudo-colonial decor (so damned ubiquitous in the DC area . . . ) -- and very long, curving halls, more like a yutzy hotel. The unit was a duplex with a terrace off the upper room -- but the circular stair to the room took up half the floor space. It's a very badly designed building.
My first reaction was expensive hotel lobby. Impersonal, yet trying hard to justify the outragious price that they charge, by selling a fantasy.
A sort of "Versailles de la Schmatte"

Many of the buildings hallways have been redecorated with more modern furnishings (Watergate East, anyway -- don't know about South or West). Everything does curve so it made re-doing our kitchen a challenge! (I think our remodel is a bit more down-to-earth than this, although I doubt we'd ever get into home & garden)
