We love this Hudson River Valley home called Midwood in Columbia County, New York for all its historical grandeur and the very modern woman who transformed the space for her grandchildren.
Joan K. Davidson lives in the 1888 house and maintains its 87 acres of pristine landscape. With plenty of guest rooms for her large family, she especially loves the ebonized faux-bamboo twin beds, made the same year her house was built, that she purchased at an Armenian church auction. Red and green accents in the space add some warm tones against the cool black finish of the beds. And because she loves entertaining so much, she installed a massive bulletin board on the second-floor landing of the house where visitors can prop up drawings, photos, or any other document of the time they've spent at the house. Davidson even has a dedicated art room where these mementos can be safely produced by the younger guests. There are some traditionally-decorated areas of the house, too. The entry foyer features a portrait of Davidson's daughter as a young woman, and the front porch has a special mirror that reflects the stunning natural landscape around the property.

what do you mean? people don't have "fall home's"? I have a spring home myself! j/k but yes, LOVE LOVE LOVE the beds, and the outdoor seating area!

We have an 1891 home and it kind of feels "fall-ish" to me. Maybe its the orange-y harwood floors? lol. Love the bedroom!
i would love a home to escape to in the fall when the trees are at their finest! people have summer homes and winter homes, but my vote would definitely be a fall home.
i would also be happy to be one of the many guests that this homeowner entertains especially in the fall. the sliver of a view that you can see in the mirror on the porch has me drooling!
