We see that play kitchens have been on readers' minds recently. Here's another one we want to show you.
Jennifer sent us this picture of the DIY play kitchen her husband made for their daughter this Christmas. She says: I found the cabinet that became the kitchen on the side of the road with a sign that said "free". My husband added the cabinet doors and oven door / cutout, as well as a basin and drain for the sink, something cheap from the plumbing department for burners, and the knobs from an old broken stereo make a nice touch. We found the high chair at a thrift store for $5, and the the shelf at a garage sale for another $5. Between the paint, the oilcloth to line the shelves, the fabric for the apron / oven mitt, and the legs, etc we spent a total of about $100. We could have done it cheaper but the knick knacks and details were so much fun we just kept going. It fits perfectly in an unused nook of our kitchen so my daughter and I can cook together! It was a big hit on Christmas morning - she loves it.
We love the wall-mounted shelf on the side of the "big kitchen" cabinet. Thanks, Jennifer!

Sweet!
This is the coolest Play Kitchen I've ever seen!!!! Completely rocks my socks! I really adore her work space between the sink and the burners - let's her mix in her mixing bowl before cooking/baking! Love it! Great job!
that's insanely cute.
This is amazing. And that flooring! I may have to consider this when I finally makeover my kitchen disaster.
LOVE THIS!
You and your husband did such a great job on the kitchen. It must be so fun to have her cooking beside you!
