Name: Twin Girls
Location: Greensboro, NC

My twin girls recently turned three! Our “big” present to them was their big girl room. Now, let me tell you that I was NOT a girly girl. I just wasn’t. But it seems I gave birth to two VERY girly girls. They love all things princess.

Generally, I really dislike “theme” rooms. If you had told me a year ago that I would design a princess room for them, I would have laughed in your face. But it occurred me that that my girls should love their room, so that meant incorporating some princess things. I set out to do it in a tasteful way and I hope I succeeded.

We started by picking out the bedding. We THEN picked a very light green color for the walls. And, of course, we hung a chandelier for the princesses. We also made our own upholstered headboards to finish the soft look we were aiming for.

Finally, we turned an awkward, empty niche in the room (created by the chimney), into a beautiful feature by building our own floating shelves. The shelves are located right beside the feature wall, which highlights a quote from Cinderella with washi tape wall decals that I made myself.

My little princesses LOVE the room, and it is a "theme" room that I am totally on board with.
