A Prospect Heights Row House Renovation

Dwell

Dwell is featuring an impressive Prospect Heights row house renovation by Jeff Sherman of Delson or Sherman Architects. Sherman took ten years to complete the project on an extremely tight budget and the results are worth all the effort.

After purchasing the building, once the structure was in decent enough shape Sherman moved in and began working on one project at a time as his paychecks allowed. He kept everything that was usable like the pressed tin wallcovering, and uncovered treasures in the process, like a marble fireplace under many coats of paint. Ten years later, the house is finely-tuned in ways that could not have been foreseen had the renovations been completed in one quick phase. We especially love all the rustic wood surfaces mixed in with modern furniture and fixtures.
