Last week we featured a neat DIY for using recycled bottles as hanging vases. Today we feature this idea to the extreme — design studio, Rosenbaum, designed this garden as an inexpensive small space solution for growing herbs and spices.
The project was part of a home design TV series, Home Sweet Home, that redesigns homes for families in need. This family was already growing plants in recycled food packaging, so the idea was a hit, in fact it was so sucessful with viewers that Rosenbaum published a how-to tutorial. All you need is emptied and cleaned 2-liter PET bottles, scissors, clothesline rope, twine or wire, and two washers per bottle.

I really love this idea but one thought came to mind right away. Watering all of those that are shown in the picture would take forever! Now maybe I am just a lazy gardner but I have enough problem watering the few pots I have....this just wouldn't happen for me!
I'd just spray them with a hose from a few feet away — like it's raining!
