Unwinding in a hammock with a glass of wine- I can't think of a more relaxing summer activity. For the oenophile who has everything, here's a wooden hammock made from a wine barrel.
At Apartment Therapy, we heart hammocks. This one from Michael Chiarello's NapaStyle is my latest obsession.
Made from the 22 curved staves of a single California wine barrel, this hammock looks so inviting. Sanded and sealed for weather resistance, it's also practical.
For those of you with power tools, this seems straightforward to DIY. Personally, I'll be pining away until I have that backyard with two perfectly spaced trees.

An old barrel turned into a place for rest and relaxation, I love it! Very green! Plus, I always say that inspiration can be found anywhere, even a wine barrel.
Argh! I've seen so many repurposed wine barrels lately that it makes me so jealous of everyone in wine country! The hammock is cute!
oh my gosh!!! I WANT ONE soooo bad! Cait from Hernando House just sent this link to me via a comment on my post about DIY projects with wine barrels for our yard!!! LOVE IT!
I love how it looks but I am guessing it wouldn't be very comfortable.
It is very pretty, but it makes my back hurt just looking at it.
Um, we purchased 1/2 an old wine barrel for a plant, and after leaving it the car on a warm day while we had a coffee, found it a little head-spinning when we returned. One may like merlot, but a car smelling like it plus alcoholic fumes made the ride home interesting.
Love.
Repurposing with a purpose!!!! Really cool!!!
It's beautiful, but how could it possibly be comfortable?
