Many of these pieces are in the higher price range but this look can be accomplished on a budget as well. Thrift stores, estate sales and local classifieds are just a few places where these items can be found for a lot less.

"Thrift stores, estate sales and local classifieds are just a few places where these items can be found for a lot less."
Optimism is a virtue.
I would give each and every one of those pieces a happy home.
I actually found a Scandinavian Bassett hutch for 30.00 at a thrift store this summer - my tip? Go to the little (or big) Catholic thrift stores in your area. A lot of times things are just priced to sell instead of reflexive of trends.
I stopped adding at $18,000. This kind of optimism is like saying insanity is just a state of mind.
Some of the pieces are stunning. A Mouille has always been on my to do list, ahem. But you could secure one for less if you add in a trip to Paris. The sofa sectional leaves me breathless.
Oh, that thrift store search: You have the same chance of finding a Michelangelo behind your sofa...er, never mind on that last one!
I think he meant: this "LOOK" can be accomplished through shopping at Thrift stores, estate sales and local classifieds. Obviously you're not going to find these "EXACT" pieces there!
gaaasp... where did you get the image of the flooring???

..., I found a wood floor and changed it in Photoshop.
Ok, nice, I've been looking for something like this to use as a background on my blog... think I'll follow your example :)

I love clean lines, so Scandinavia furniture is one of my favorites. I have never seen this type at second hand stores (low $$$)so I still don't have really clean lines. But home is clean lined as much as I can. And it makes me happy to look at it. As Goethe (I hope I'm remembering correctly, Stroke, you know) would say, "simplify, simplify, simplify". sincerely, mary
When did we become so accustomed to such uninspired design?
I'd rather see real rooms than these weirdly proportioned idea boards.
No offence, but this "Scandinavian inspired" posting is a bit lazy. Aside from the over the top Hans Wegner chair at the beginning and the E-bay pottery, none of these items are actually from a Scandinavian country. Why not include items that you might actually find in many Scandinavian homes such as the PH series of lamps from Poulsen and Marimekko wall hangings?
I just think it's disingenuous to imply that you can fake it with these pieces or that you may luck into this look in a thrift store. You either have them or you don't. Once you get within 10 feet of some of the pieces you quickly realize why they cost so much and what exactly you're paying for.
You're never going to Ikea a Mangold, Mouille, or the lush look of the Faleschini sectional pieces, and no amount of photo editing or whishful thinking will get you otherwise.
I thought the Scandinavian moniker was so ridiculous as to not comment, so thank you P.
