Project by: Jill Danyelle of VERDOIER
Location: Long Island City — Queens, New York

My client is a single professional who chose the Long Island City neighborhood for proximity to work, but also for the views and new construction finishes in his building. He was renting and knew he would likely only be there a year before relocating, so he wanted to pull something together quickly and on a budget. He wanted a modern vibe, but one that was also warm and welcoming. I came up with a design plan that allowed for some investment pieces he could bring with him when he left and rounded out the space with some more wallet-friendly finds and vintage accessories.

Many of my favorite pieces in the project (the driftwood lamp, the soda bottle vases, the kilim, the coffee table, etc.) are vintage or one-offs.
