‘Tis the season for the sniffles. Today I am staying home sick and resigning myself to fun magazines, my RSS feed and grilled cheese with soup. Because laughter is the best medicine, I’ve put together a cheerful dream-tray to get me through this groggy day. (Oh, and yes, I’m eating grilled cheese off formal china...but when you’re sick you get anything you want.) What are your sick day must-haves?

Sprout Side Table
Are you talking about a sick day or a "sick" day? wink wink
Miso soup with Kale and hot pepper flakes, the really good kleenex (with the lotion), and homemade ginger ale. For prolonged illness, provide me with fashion mags that I almost never buy.
But I might die of my illness if you gave me that creepy Pee Wee doll. Just sayin'.
I personally love the Pee Wee doll! Love the post too :)
Potato Soup.
My must have would have to be: apple juice, chicken noodle soup, cocoa, control over the TV remote, a full box of soft tissues, flannel pajamas, and comics. I normally don't read comics but when I'm sick I want them...the fiance buys them occasionally and they get saved up for when I'm sick.
I'm quite the opposite on wanting to use real china when I'm sick. I'd prefer not to. I've been known to even use paper plates since I don't want to get up and wash dishes and I can't expect people to come and take complete care of me.
When I'm sick I always call my mom. I'm 39 and I live almost 400 miles from her. I usually just call and whine for about 5 minutes and then she says, "well there's nothing I can do from here. Get some rest." And then we hang up.
I also have sick-wear...gray sweat pants and a red flannel Woolrich shirt that I bought in 1993...yes it is about 18 years old! But well worn and comfortable/comforting for whatever reason. I eat scrambled eggs and drink orange juice and drink hot tea. I sleep a lot and watch as much junky t.v. as I want.
Feel better soon!
Alpaca throw, huge pot of earl, and the entire season of Spaced. All better :)
Grilled Cheese with Butternut squash and bacon...thats enough to make me wanna feel better! That site is off the food chart!!! Does GrilledCheese Social girl deliver??Hope you feel better!!
Warm pj's fuzzy socks and slippers, my faux fur throw, remote control, tons of movies and some green tea and a nice hot bowl of oatmeal or pea soup...although the grilled cheese sandwich sounds pretty good too.
I think I need the plate & bowl to make me feel better. Am prepared to have a cold if that helps...
bad tv. it makes the body an inhospitable place for germs.
@holydita - Last time I was sick I watched 6 hours of a Hoarders marathon. LOL.
@skeemer -- must not have been a 'stomach flu', Hoarders would make nausea worse!
I created this tea with rose hips and ginger, it really works for when I'm starting to get sick
