As we move into the Holiday Season, Keep It Simple will be our mantra. This screen print is the first print of London-based type designer, Seb Lester for the Keep Calm Gallery. The lettering used is part of a 19th century alphabet by the brilliant 19th century lettering artist, Daniel T. Ames.

We love the tongue-in-cheek admonishment to keep it simple written in the fanciest script imaginable. The print is produced in a limited edition of 200 from the Keep Calm Gallery for £28.

I love it! The type is pretty similar to this tote bag that my studio just printed, which is sold by the Cincinnati-based "green general store" Park Vine. I love this kind of ornate typography.
Um... shouldnt this, by nature of its existence, be printed in Helvetica?
modfan -- they're reserving helvetica for the IRONY poster
HAH! Good one, Holland...my thoughts exactly. ;)
