The office of Toronto designer Colleen McGill fits nicely into a small dormer space. While space is limited, ingenuity is not: Plenty of storage is provided in U-shaped built-ins and work space tops it off:
Spatially, the dormer isn't limited either. With high exposed beams, the little nook feels open, airy, dare I say loft-like? All this while keeping everything at arm's length. I would think that such a wonderful design would have to improve productivity.

Ideally, there would be some kind of pullout surface for the keyboard. Otherwise, your knees are bonking against the cabinet.

I'm sure there's a knee-hole in the side - the laptop is just set that way for the photograph.
Great use of the limited amount of space. Like how simple and clean it is.
eee! so cute! i love the prismacolors organized like that.
Love! This is such a great use of space!
*rolls eyes at birkin bag*
wonderful small office space. What I like the most is that there are real binders on the shelves and it doesn't look bad. Has anyone noticed that no offices shown on apt therapy have much office products like stuff you would actually find at staples.
k.keys, first thing I noticed was the birkin too. My second thought was...why would someone who has a birkin have such a small office? then I remembered its Toronto.
lovely space... and bag....
my desk generally has my handbag next to it, it's where i tend to drop it when i first come home.
if she's in design, its very likely she'll have a great handbag or two but still live small in other ways.
