Among graphic designers, Stefan Sagmeister is a giant (and additionally famous for his nude promotional campaigns). But ironically due to real estate scarcity in NYC, his design firm Sagmeister & Walsh (with partner Jessica Walsh) exists in a quite cozy space.

If you navigate over to the Sagmeister & Walsh site, you'll note a few navigation menu boxes ("Work", "Answers", "Press"). They're actually part of the office floor, as revealed in the photo above before their office renovation promoting the launch of their new partnership.

Now compare the photo above to the all-white transformation of the New York office revealed in the gallery. The white-themed makeover transformed the enclosed space for 3-4 with a sheen of monochromatic spaciousness and modernity (though I did like the aged character of scuffed floors and warmth of the wood). Floors, walls, and bookcases were painted all-white, while white office accessories and furniture were chosen to complement the whole. Additionally, the book collection was organized by color. It's always up for debate whether organizing books by color is the best technique in regards to categorization by some, but it's hard to argue separating by color doesn't help calm a space with a visual element of a "space for everything".
