We have known our fair share of apartments whose kitchens feel like an appendage, a foreign object squeezed in for necessity's sake. Which can be awkward at its worst. But it can actually make for a very interesting interior design challenge...
In this Parisian apartment, the challenge was met with an amazing solution: a tiny kitchen, complete with all the works, fit into a "kitchen object" along one wall. The exterior of the kitchen object is finished in dark metal. The interior is painted in a vivid red.
What do you think? Is kitchen-as-object an interesting solution to the small apartment kitchen? We certainly think so!

White Enamel Four-P...
very clever. I love this kind of creative thinking.
So cool!
I think it is poorly designed. That tall wall blocks the natural light coming in from the window on the left. They easily could have extended it into the living area a little more to account for losing the top cabinets above the sink (to let the window light in). Yeah.
Agreeing w/yonella. Great idea, poor execution.
Love the creative thinking though - more please!
perfection
blocked light? look at the first pic. the "wall" is about 3' wide, extends from the entry wall, and forms the kitchen wall.
