A Space for Playing and Lounging in Perth

My Great Outdoors

Family: Julia, Gary, Matilda (4) & Isobel (2)
Location: Perth, Western Australia

We have a relatively small block (440 sqm) and therefore a smallish backyard. The aim was to make the space more useable and child-friendly but also a place for us adults to sit and relax.I sought inspiration from outdoor magazines and web images. We knew we wanted a sandpit and a space for the cubby house. The kids love all of it and we especially love the artificial lawn as it requires zero maintenance. The whole backyard is very low maintenance in itself.

We love our sunloungers on the deck. We sit out there in Summer watching the kids play with a glass of wine in hand. The toadstools were made by my husband and suit the yard perfectly and make for great little chairs! Our landscaper did a great job of listening to our ideas and translating them into a fabulous use of space!

Thanks Julia! You pour the drinks - we'll be there!
