The most magical place on Earth is about to go intergalactic: Word on the design streets is that a Star Wars hotel is coming to Disney World in Orlando, and this collision of fantasy worlds undoubtedly has space geeks and theme park enthusiasts pumped.
The new luxury resort at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park will be the first of its kind, and true to form, Disney has plans to go all out (of this world) with the hotel design.
According to the Telegraph, the Star Wars hotel will feature interactive experiences with characters, a water park, a fitness center and pool area. Reportedly, the hotel will take the shape of a Star Wars spacecraft (no word on the exact ship but we're rooting for the Millennium Falcon).
"From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story!" Disney's Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek said during an appearance at the Disney fan club's annual D23 Expo in Anaheim. "You'll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire."
Of the cosmos-inspired resort, Chapek added, "Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100 percent immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits." Sort of like Westworld for Star Wars.
If you've been scratching your head over what gift to purchase for the Star Wars fan in your life (seriously, everyone either knows or is one), we imagine they'll find a few nights at this spaced-out resort perfectly suitable. Just be sure to remind them to pack their trusty Star Wars lightsaber night light for the stay.
