For those who have recently moved to a new city or for those who are looking to spice up a long-term relationship with their town, there's an adventurous way to see your city in a whole new light: Spend time exploring your city's best offerings at different hours of the day (and night).
Spread the adventure over a few weekends. The point of this exploring exercise is to see what your city has to offer at (almost) every hour of the day. A city changes mood and attitude as the hands circle the clock — and a great way to really get to know your city is to get to know it around the clock, too.
Obviously, don't go solo exploring down dark alleys by yourself at four in the morning. Any after-hours exploring and adventuring should be well-lit and well-attended.
Look for fun activities throughout the day!
Try midnight movies and comedy clubs — bars aren't the only place you can stay out late to experience your city. Same goes with other hours of the day — is running around a trail best in the evening? There a favorite lunch place everyone grabs a great afternoon meal? Find out the places and activities that bring your city's residents out at various times of the day and see why they're popular at certain hours.
Try tasting different times
Your city known for breakfast tacos and brunches? Hit a few up one weekend. Are there some 24-hour diners you've been meaning to try? Explore them at an odd hour to really enjoy the atmosphere.
Try waking up early for a spectacular sunrise
Never see the morning before like, 8am? Try setting that alarm early one weekend (don't worry, you can nap later!) and catch a sunrise over your great city.
