Sometimes it can be hard to think of a bedroom as more than a place for a bed (or two), a dresser and maybe a bookshelf thrown in for good measure. But once in awhile a space comes along that recharges our design batteries and has us thinking about all the things we could be including like: a rock wall, punching bags, lofted beds, a basketball court and more!
The last photo in the series above highlights the typical space this room was before NY based designer Hilary Unger got her hands on it. She gutted things down to the brick walls, rebuilding things back up in a while new manner.
The lofts are located in the far corners of the room to allow for the most floor space possible to give the boys the most space to play inside on a rainy day. Storage was key and is hidden under the beds and with the large expanse of bookshelves.
We're not sure we can pick a favorite design choice in the space as we think each detail has been thought about from top to bottom. If this doesn't make them the most popular kids on the block, we're not sure what will! Heck we're even hoping to be invited over for a game of Horse. Though we have a feeling we might lose.

Now that is an awesome boys room.
Awesome! And I'm always so impressed when I see a totally perpendicular climbing wall. I SO cannot climb anything without an incline. Er, not that I'm the target audience for a kids' climbing wall. ;)
What a fun room! It would be great for girls, too.
Very nice and several steps up from the typical sports-themed room. I'm sure this child's friends love to hang out in his room.
I love the climbing wall. My husband and I were just talking about where we could put one in our place for our daughter. Lucky kids.
awesome- makes me want to vault the ceiling in my son's room and copy each & every idea!
Totally inspiring! I love how there are so many different options for playing.
Wonderful multifunction space and sophisticated design they won't outgrow soon! I love the netting on the top of the loft space. Where did you source that? I am doing a basketball hoop in our playroom and want to create a netted blockade in front of the window area. Any help would be appreciated!
Lucky kids who own this room! My son would love it. The indoor climbing wall is on our list of things to do as he gets older.
