A pair of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed cottages in Wilmette, Illinois have had a suspenseful story: threatened by demolition, preservationists swooped into save the homes. Then one was purchased for $1 on the condition it would be dismantled and cataloged for a move to a nearby town with just two weeks to do so. The new owner hopes to have the home rebuilt next year.

That's so awesome they were able to save these American icons. I visited Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana-Thomas house in Springfield--it's pretty amazing. Seeing his Fallingwater is definitely on my bucket list.
