We are constantly in awe of, not just the milestones, but the subtle, small ways in which our daughter is learning and developing every day now. That's why this book just made it onto our personal reading list...
It's described as part biography, part case-study, and part novel, and is said to read like fiction. Seems like a good break from the typical parenting or development books out there. You can find it here.

thanks for the recommendation. sounds like a good one.
Thanks so much for this rec - it sounds wonderful!
Sometimes I think Ohdeedoh is watching my family... Just wrote a post about high-contrast (b/w) images and how they're thought to aid the developing mind; my husband's currently reading the book by Fernyhough as well.

I have always been interested in science and development, but having children has heightened that sense of wonder. I have begun collecting some of my favorite sources and inspirations regarding child development-I'll have to check this one out.
