A Toronto Home Where Functionality & Style Go Side by Side

Name: Erin
Location: Riverdale — Toronto, Ontario

Erin's Toronto home is full of clean lines and up-cycled style. She's created a space that is both family friendly, totally functional and full of covetable finds. Her motto? "Style your home with love"!

From Erin: Our home is located in a neighborhood in Riverdale, Toronto. It is a three-story, standard-looking, 100-plus-year-old historic Toronto home. It boasts an open concept main floor, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Tall and narrow are two very common traits of an older Toronto home.

We bought it two years ago with most renovations done, and although the finishings would not have been my first choice, there were too many things right with this house to pass it up...we were sold! Although some of the elements of the home are not my style, I selected interior decor elements that I love. Mostly, I focus on mid-century modern pieces. I love natural wood, clean lines and adding texture and fabric with accents. I am a strong believer in up-cycling. I have a thrift and curbside obsession. I like to move items around within the home, so they don't always live in one spot. We have small children, so functionality is key!

I say, style your home with love, it is not all about design rules...give your home life! It's a home, not a house!
