A Travel-Themed Nursery in Seattle

My Room

Name: "Baby Delaney"
Location: Seattle, WA

We live in a fairly small two bedroom home in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood. Our first child (a boy) is due on August 6, so we have spent the past several months transforming our guest room into his nursery.

The previous space was dark and gloomy, so we chose to lighten it up and create a comforting, happy space. The overall theme is travel with an emphasis on the UK. Jim Datz's London print served as the room's main inspiration.

I collaborated with Erica of craftyblossom on Etsy to create the St. George's Cross quilt. I also created a mobile, a washi monogram, bookshelves (from IKEA spice racks) and pillows for the room. My husband and I upholstered an IKEA Expedit shelf to create a window seat. Now, we are anxiously awaiting the final missing piece - our bouncing baby boy!
