Yesterday, while I wallowed and listened to a heavy rotation of rainy day music, Abby was much more productive with her post of rainy day projects for the bedroom. So, I'm going to follow Abby's lead and offer this interesting (and seemingly simple DIY!) lighting arrangement: a triptych of hanging lamps for the dining room.
If you love the look of this, it's pretty simple to do: You can either buy a complete lamp shade kit and build it from scratch, like one of these from The Lamp Shop, or hit up Ikea for three ceiling pendant lamps (like the Basisk model) and switch out the shades. (Laure's also found another great resource for affordable lampshades here.)
Once you get your fabric sorted, Colleen over at AT:DC has an easy tutorial on how to cover lampshades.

Um, there were comments here a minute ago, no?
Were they removed to cover up the original misspelling of the headline's "Triptych"? Cuz it's still misspelled in the URL of the post.
Meanwhile, there's a full-on race riot brewing over on the baby name post, and THIS is what gets edited out/censored? Funny.
@patrick (the other one), you rock.
Well don't I feel dumb! I had to look up triptych to find out what it means. And now I know what a polyptych is, also.
@getting there, do share! (I could look it up, but I know how much fun it is to share a new word, and I love to learn new words in usage, not just from the dictionary.)
I dont know what anything means but I do know I would hit my head on those shades in pic. 1.
Triptych means 3 parts or panels. Polyptych means 4 or more. I've gone quite a few years without needing to know either of these words. Now that I do, I have a feeling it will be difficult working them into conversations with most of the people I know.
Oh, I'm going to check out the baby name post. Nuthin like rubber necking...
PS: There is another post up today with a glaring typo in it...
@patrick (the other one), dare we mention it? The censors might bring down the hammer!
