In our house there are major plans under way to loft a bed and play space in our daughters' 6.6' x 12' bedroom. I knew we could do something fun, but never dreamt it could be quite as cool as this loft / reading nook / wardrobe.
Pan and Myriam, designers of the French vivid textile-based line Petit Pan have managed to make a tiny space for their three children feel otherworldly. Love that secret hiding place for a child! If you're short on square footage and long on ceiling height, perhaps this would make a great solution?

Ercol Bar Stool
Fantastic, and the rest of the house is just as wonderful.
those cut outs by the mattress!!! yikes...it will be nice once my toddlers get to be kid age!
Psst . . . it's either "under way" or "afoot," not "underfoot."
Thanks @STH. ;-) Underfoot is indeed a word, but it literally means under one's feet. So if I were standing on a paper plan, it would indeed be "underfoot." Duly noted!
