Recently I visited the exquisite apartment home of Tom Andrews, where during my house tour shoot, I fell in love with his dining room. Somehow, he has seamlessly merged the original old world charm of the architecture with modern industrial surfaces, and finished with organic textures.

While Tom aims to show off the original bones of the building, like the amazing windows, the original doors and built in cabinetry- he also has created modern and organic elements to bring this dining room together. I love how he has matching industrial carts on both sides of the room, completed with stacked mirrors (three on each wall) which he purchased from CSN.com. Combined with the gorgeous windows and natural light, it opens up the dining space so much to create a really bright inspired room.
Tom brings in his love of nature and organic touches with stacking decorative chopped fire wood inside the cart. Also I love that while you see a modern round glass table top, it's base is made of a wide wood root. He juxtaposes the table with modern wire frame chairs by Bertoia. The lovely tall tree that hangs high in the corner provides a softness to the sleek space- also providing some luscious color to the white walls.

Very nice. What's the name of the tall plant in the background of the first photo?
I'd guess fig.
@abrin001 -- looks like some variety of fig, to me.
Lovely mirrors!
The tree is a fiddle leaf fig. They can become quite impressive.
abrin001, I believe that is a ficus lyrata, commonly known as a fiddle-leaf fig.

It's a strangling fig species called Ficus lyrata (Fiddle-Leaf Fig). It is often used as a potted foliage shrub within the interiors of residences & buildings for its big bold leaves.
In nature, the seed typically starts its life as an epiphyte on the host tree, & gradually takes over the latter. In the tropical outdoors, the sapling or stem-cutting can also be planted as a stand-alone tree that would reach 12-15 m (40-50 ft) height upon maturity.
Thanks for everyone's prompt replies.
I saw the same plant in a Coach store and was told it was an elephant ear ficus/fig tree. Wonder if it is same as fiddle leaf.
it is a fig....love the logs....smiles
This room is awesome. I love everything about it.
The stacked mirrors paired with the carts do look amazing in this room. I found the mirror on the CSN website:

Oh, my! I need that cart! Anyone have a link to those?
I love modern and organic styles, but always run into trouble envisioning how to mix the two. Mr. Andrews did an amazing job. Beautiful!
I LOVE this room. A subtle mix of styles like this makes a much bigger statement to me than a room that is very theme-y.
Anyone know where the lamp is from?
LOVELY!
