A Mountain Room for a Mountain Kid

My Room

Name: Cullen, newborn
Location: Lake Tahoe, California

As a graphic designer interested in interior design, I had the design of this room in my head through a few pregnancies that ended in miscarriage. In a weird way, it kept up my spirits knowing that someday it would finally come to fruition. So, you can imagine, that I was very excited to finally have a viable pregnancy and give this little boy this woodland creature nursery—a perfect room for a mountain kid!

We worked with an interior designer to help us source the carpeting, Wyoming snow fence and help with the custom closet design and scale of the space. And we worked with a good friend of ours to help us with the carpentry and build out for things like the custom closet and the execution of the wood wall, sconce and tree bookshelf install, etc.

But most of the other items were sourced by me using Pinterest as a way to gather a lot of inspiration. I started with the mushroom stools from Anthropologie and the tree bookshelf from nurseryworks and it just went from there. The art was all from Etsy and my favorite piece, the 2D mobile on the wall, was made by some great friends.

Although, our little boy is just a newborn, he already opens his eye wide whenever he is in his room and we look forward to him enjoying it for years to come.

Thanks, KC!
