With yesterday's post about Holmes Wilson, I may have unwittingly revealed my obsession with smooth concrete accessories for the garden... and these planters from Kelly Lamb, which we spotted on the fabulous Happy Mundane, just fit right in. The geometric forms provide such a great complement to the graphic succulents, calling attention to the intricacy of the plants' own shapes.
Lamb, an interior and product designer, fashions the planters from cast concrete. A hanging planter is especially interesting in such a heavy material, since they're ordinarily made from something light (like wicker or (gasp) macrame).
Lamb's terrariums are fascinating as well. Their hard-edged geometric shapes, made from powder-coated metal and glass, turn the somewhat romantic notion of a terrarium on its head. And the metal form "frames" the little landscape from many different angles, creating an intriguingly segmented view of what's going on inside.
You can find out more about these and Lamb's other products, as well as her interior design projects, on her site, which also has purchase info.
