One of our favorite things to cover at Unplggd are home decor items inspired by visuals that are usually relegated to screens and this trash can definitely fits the bill. This DIY project is sure to add some fun to any home office and is a great way to show off your geek pride with a little pixel love.
Inspired by the paper pixel trash can from Codeco
shown above, Instructables user BrittLiv
decided to make a version out of wood that would replace the trash can in her home.
To make this project you will need: wood 1.5 cm thick (plywood works), paint (3 different types of gray), wood filler (putty knife), wood glue, primer, masking tape, and screws (20 mm long).
The tools needed for this project are: a circular saw bench, scroll saw, belt sander, drill, ruler, paint brush, clamps, working gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
Of course being apartment dwellers we don't have the space or tools at hand for a project like this, but we can't help but admire the finished product. If you are a fellow apartment dweller that is sans woodworking shop, try your hand at the paper version by Codeco.
Check out the project on Instructables for the complete instructions.
