I’m going to go out on a whim and guess that at least one of your New Year’s resolutions will focus on health. Let’s dive deeper, shall we? Does this particular resolution have to do with improving your personal health? I thought so.

You might think your resolutions should start well after the New Year, but the truth is, now is the time to set yourself up for success. One of the easiest ways to do this is to add some of these smart wellness and fitness gadgets to your list. That way, you’ll be ready to start on your resolutions as soon as you’re done digesting your pecan pie. (They’re also a great way to burn through any gift cards you get as presents.)

Breathe better

We’re only as healthy as the air we breathe. But how do you really know what you’re breathing in? Awair (above) spills the beans, tracking everything from air temperature to humidity to dust. This smart device can tell you what allergens are in the air that might trigger things like itchy eyes or asthma. If it’s a good night’s sleep you’re after, Awair can help decrease your risk of insomnia. Now if only it could make the air temperature 80 degrees year-round, we’d be set.

Make daily hydration personal

How many times have you heard you need at least eight glasses of water each day? Not only is eight a totally arbitrary number (seriously, where did it even come from?), but everyone’s hydration needs are drastically different. Enter Pryme Vessyl, the smart water bottle that tracks and records your personal hydration. Based on your own personal data, Pryme determines the ideal way to keep you hydrated throughout the day, then prompts you to sip. You’ll be well on your way to those eight glasses (or however many) in no time.

Intimate fitness tracking

To all my ladies: your ladies can now help track your workout. OMbra is a custom-fit sports bra with built-in sensors to track your fitness success. It’s the first wearable tech that can track real-time breathing while you run, heart rate from deep within your core, and actual body movement metrics. All you have to do is download the app, sync it to your custom wearable, and get running.

Jump your way to better health

All it takes to get healthy in the New Year is a jump, skip, and a hop. No, really; jump rope is an amazing (and now smart) workout, thanks to TANGRAM Smart Rope. The sophisticated jump rope design is LED-embedded, which means you can literally watch your fitness success light up mid-jump. And for fans of HIIT workouts, one of the corresponding app’s many features has an excellent selection of interval training sessions.

Gym in your pocket

If you’ve ever wanted to take your gym with you when you travel, or just get a little workout in at your desk, the Tao Wellshell has you covered. Using isometric exercises (you push, it resists… trust me, you feel it), the app walks you through a series of moves that can make you work up a sweat while you sit in a chair (or on a bus, in an airplane, hotel room… you get the idea).

Put a spin on it

If you love spinning, but often can’t find a class that works with your schedule, we feel you. And you sound like the perfect candidate for a Peloton indoor exercise bike. Join live classes, broadcast from a studio in NYC from home, or call up classes on-demand when they work for your schedule. World-class instructors and live performance tracking will have you feeling like you’re right there cycling with the pack.
