From old dresser drawers to new stylin' night tables. Maxwell, this has your name all over it!
We don't drink coffee, but boy do we miss that morning jolt. We got it this morning. Not because we accidentally drank a caffeinated beverage but because we stumbled across Redesign Diva whose infectious enthusiasm for recycling woke us up from our dreamy writing state. Some people rescue stray pets. Kindle of Redesign Diva is on a crusade to rescue stray furniture.
Hauling it home in her Kia, she coaxes new life into it, employing equals parts heart, technique and imagination. Don't have the time or money to reupholster your chairs before Thanksgiving? Check Redesign Diva for a quick and easy makeover. Or maybe you have a dresser that's broken but the drawers are still salvageable? Turn those drawers into a pair of faux-midcentury night tables.
What we really love is her ability to see the diva in even the lowliest and scariest piece of furniture. It doesn't take much to see the beauty in a scruffy antique; Kindle finds it in those sadder pieces that crowd most thrift stores, Salvation Armies and Goodwills and makes them over for less than what it takes to fill up your car.
And her reach extends further than furniture. She's got a laptop bag made from an old dress and some cardboard that she sells in her shop that we're coveting, perfect for taking our portable office to the local coffee shop. (We gave up caffeine, not coffee shops.)
