Bookshelf Porn that is! Not in the creepy naked people furniture way, but in a "that is a darn impressive and beautiful collection of books" way. Bookshelf Porn is a diverse collection of bookshelves and books from across the internet, all interesting and beautiful in their own right. We've added this to our blogroll and we think you should too- Bookshelf Porn is the porn for your design soul!

We've spent the last few days knocked out by a nasty winter cold, napping on the couch and watching crappy daytime tv. Completely sapped of all energy and not in the mood for reading blogs, we searched for porn instead.

Sprout Side Table
Oh, how desperately I want a library in may apartment. With a hidden door to house more books! In the meantime, will settle for the Ikea Billy metal shelves, which enable more books to be accommodated in my little flat.
Of Tumblr.com blogs with this topic, I find I prefer the stuff posted on f--kyeahbookshelves (fill in those blanks). It's similar, with some overlap/sharing, but if you're looking for fantasy bookshelves rather than stuff you might actually do someday, it's better.
i like the book piles sorted on color and if i had a staircase like that i sure would try that one.
The spiral staircase of books is just uncomfortable to look at, but not just for the visual clutter and propensity to collect dust. It forces people to walk down the narrow part of the stair. People who misstep may end up trying to regain their balance while surfing down the stairs on a pile of books.
this is one of the reasons I am against the e-book. How will I be able to create a library if all my books are digital!
only two options in here that are remotely working and they both require ladders. the color coded stacking... not sure what this says about the owners buying/reading habits. I don't want to judge a book by it's cover but this leads me to believe that someone was buying on cover art more than on content.
some of these are illustrations rather than real life bookshelves, right? but they are still fun. the spiral stairway is a bit unsafe this way, even though i still love the look. the wall high ones are lovely … i have something a bit like that - walls not quite so high (11 ft), no ladder (unless i get it out of the closet), and the really simple version made of Ikea shelves and brackets, painted white.
